Indicators that guide operations
The Cross Roads company profile reports 0% major lost-time incidents and 100% safety compliance. These indicators are supported by monitoring driving performance, reporting hazards and near misses, and reviewing operating procedures.
What do we track?
We record incident rate and driving performance, hazard and near-miss observations, and Stop Work Authority interventions. Drivers and supervisors may stop a task immediately when a risk appears, without prior approval. Every incident is reported, documented and investigated using Loss Causation methodology, with client reports covering RAG status, operating hours and kilometres driven.
How are drivers prepared?
Our team includes more than 500 trained and certified drivers and staff. Training covers defensive driving, hazardous material handling and communication (HAZMAT/HAZCOM), spill response, fire-fighting, first aid and CPR. Annual competency reassessment helps maintain readiness.
Governance between journeys
Safety committees meet weekly and monthly, supported by toolbox talks and practical coaching under certified HSE oversight. ISO 45001:2018 provides the occupational health and safety management framework for these practices. The system connects field observations to corrective action and follow-up, making safety part of planning, execution and review on every journey.
